So I started researching different lifestyles, detoxes, and cleanses that I can do, to give my body a new start. I don't plan on becoming a vegan, raw foodist, or vegetarian but after reading around I realize that I have to add more raw-esque foods into my life to get back a normal active stomach and also to get more natural energy. But who knows where it will lead? Maybe one day I will eliminate all red meats and chicken, or maybe I'll fall back into my greasy pattern. I decided to write this blog to air out all my struggles and victories into a new food lifestyle. Also, to see if anyone else is like me and can offer support or suggestions.
Music and Love is another huge part of my life. I love live music and traveling and combining the two, so you'll get a little bit of that and of course the loves I go through with people, food, and other things. Just wanted to proclaim in my title what you are going to get in this blog.
Wish me luck.... here I go!

honestly, i think you are right, and i think any sensible person can eat as much of whatever they want (not literally) as long as you keep certain criterion excluded i.e. fried foods.
i think the food pyramid charts were provided to the american educational system/teachers for free by the national councils on dairy, beef, and agriculture..... who are concerned with the profits of their own individual industry. also what this is saying is that the perfect ration of a food in regards to the governments food pyramid, one that includes equal amounts of all , would be a cheeseburger with fries and milkshake. i wonder if the food industries are linked to the restaurant industries and therefore help propagate their business through controlled education and misdirection of truth? maybe im rambling, but none the less..more food is better , as long as its better food!

good luck rikki.
i have found more vegetable and fruit eating to be helpful. also, i found out that if you eat only one to two meals a day, your body goes into "starvation mode" and it saves all the fat it can in it's efforts to keep you alive. so i started from eating one meal a day to a 1200 calorie low fat diet. and it didnt sound like alot of food at first, but i am now 35lbs lighter and i feel better.
and you need to do what makes you feel good first. not every woman in the world is meant to be a size 2. so get happy where you feel the best. regardless of losing weight, make yourself feel good. bc ultimately that is who care most.
i wish you the best of luck my friend. take care and happy monday to you. :)
I have digestive trouble FOREVER. I mean since I was a baby my parent's had to take me in because I was doubled over and crying out in pain. Turns out it was my digestive system wreaking havoc. I went on the South Beach Diet after having each of my kids and not only did I loose weight, have more energy, better skin, shinier hair... my digestive issues DISAPPEARED! I hope you have the same result.
I've learned a lot about healthy eating through that diet, but now I am trying to eat healthy with some bread and other carby veggies in moderation. I'm losing weight slowly, which I'm wondering if is really the best way. On the SBD I lost so incredibly fast it was a little scary.
And as "proof" that healthy eating pays off... my blood tests from my physical were excellent. My doctor was a bit taken aback at how good they were, especially cholesterol.
I do not crave meat at all anymore, though I still eat it here and there. I am not the sweet tooth I used to be and I hope I am preventing late onset diabetes which everyone in my family has.
Well best of luck. It is hard to do this in this society and as you alluded to, in this part of the country. Try adding feeding your kids healthy in this society and in school where parents interpret healthy snacks to be cookies and cupcakes.
Oh, and a mistake I've made... weighing myself everyday. I would suggest setting intervals to weigh yourself if you even choose to do that.
Take care!
